Summer 2024: Uniform Information for New Year 7s (at White Hall Clothiers)

Uniform appointment booking (for our shop halfway between Camberwell Green and Elephant & Castle):

1. Book your appointment NOW please! (see Step 5 for detailed process)

(Our Staff will help size the uniform for you and will guide you through the process)

2. Try to come for your sizing between 5th July and 20th July as its get busier with older children after that:

– Our shop at 77 Camberwell Road is halfway between Camberwell Green and Elephant & Castle

– If you come early, we will help size your uniform bigger so that it lasts.

3. You have two options:

– Try on the uniform at our shop, pay for it and take it away with you on the same day.

– Try on the uniform and we will give you a list of your sizes and prices. You can come back later to pay for it.

4. Advice on the best times to visit the shop:

– The quietest time to visit is from 9:30am to 3pm Monday to Friday during term time. Please seek permission from your primary school class teacher beforehand.

5. How to Book:

a) Go to website https://whitehallclothiers.simplybook.it

b) Click “Book Now” box (it’s light blue)

c) Click “Select” box (below “New Starter/Year 7/Junior school fitting”)

d) Select date, then time of booking

e) Enter: – Child’s Name, your email, your mobile, school name – Click next to “I agree with SimplyBook.me Terms and Conditions” – Click “Confirm booking” box (light blue)

6. Bus Routes:

12, 35, 40, 42, 45, 68, 148, 171, 176, 468 (the Bus Stop nearest to our shop is called “Albany Road/Camberwell Road”)

7. Parking and address details:

– Put our full address into Google Maps – 77 Camberwell Road SE5 0EZ

– You can park in Urlwin Street or Grosvenor Terrace. Please download the Southwark Parking app to pay for parking.

– Parking in Iceland (120/132 Camberwell Rd, London SE5 0EE) for 1 hour costs £1.00, this is refunded if you spend £5 on food in Iceland. Buy the ticket from the machine in the car park, please check the sign next to the parking meter in case terms and conditions change.

How to care for your garments

SCHOOL BLAZERS

POLYESTER

  • Warm minimum machine wash or hand wash.Check your soap powder has no bleach additives
  • Do not use fabric conditioner
  • Cold rinse, short spin, do not wring
  • Hang up to drip dry  Do not Tumble Dry
  • Cool iron over a damp cloth if ironing required
  • Do not use iron directly onto Blazer. This garment can be dry cleaned but correct home wash is recommended.

  • Warm delicatre machine wash
  • Hand wash

  • Hang up to drip dry or cold rinse, short spin, do not wring
  • Do not Tumble Dry
  • Cool iron over a damp cloth if ironing is required  Do not use iron directly onto blazer
  • This garment can be dry cleaned but correct home wash is recommended.

SCHOOL KNITWEAR WINTER WEIGHT

  • This is a non-iron garment
  • Turn garment inside out  Machine wash delicate
  • For hand wash, hand hot water
  • Ordinary soap powder
  • Do not use fabric conditioner
  • Do not wring
  • Do not tumble dry
  • After wash place knitwear on towel to absorb excess water
  • Dry flat
  • Temperature of knitwear should not go above 30º at any time
  • No hot radiators
  • Do Not Iron
  • Body heat on wearing will self iron any creases in four minutes
  • Home wash recommended.

IRON-ON BLAZER BADGES FOR KINGSDALE AND WESTMINISTER CITY

  • Place Badge onto front outbreast top pocket
  • Using an ironing board Place damp cloth over Badge and top pocket and surrounding areas, then press down flat with hot iron
  • These Badges will not fall off when Blazer is home washed (see instructions at left of this page). But needs to be sewn on for Dry Cleaning.

SCHOOL SKIRTS/KILTS POLYESTER/MIXED FIBRES

  • Warm minimum machine wash or hand wash
  • Check your soap powder has no bleach additives
  • Do not use fabric conditioner
  • Short spin, do not wring, to retainpleating, roll skirt or kilt, place in stocking or tights, attach peg and hang onto washing line
  • Do not Tumble Dry
  • Iron over a damp cloth if ironing is required
  • Do not iron directly onto skirt
  • This garment can be dry cleaned but correct home wash is recommended.

SCHOOL TROUSERS POLYESTER MIXED FIBRES

  • Warm minimum machine wash
  • Hand wash
  • Check your soap powder has no bleach additives
  • Do not use fabric conditioner
